Bhopal is behind by atleast 20 years in bare minimum infrastructure compared to any middle level city like Indore, Nagpur, Lucknow etc. Capitol region plan of Bhopal is too inadequate in present and new development has not been congrous with it. Availability of land for new roads is non exstent. Therefore, new projects and professional work culture is not seen in Bhopal. Only signs of development in Bhopal are huge crops of Jhuggies and Pan gumaties. Efforts must be made to make long range plans of development, take up real good need based infrastructure projects and attract large companies instead of pan gutka munching thekedars to execute works. Merely performing Bhoomipujas for 50-100 feet length colony roads by Ministers is not going to work. It is a matter of political will and social sensitization to give this otherwise beautiful city a chance of survival.

Bhopal is about 60 years back from Sydney(Australia) where I am for the last one month.I am living in Bhopal for the last 25 years & since 2006 residing at Ganj Basoda can say freely that there is no proper cleanleness in Bhopal & no civic sense was developed among the residents by concerned agency. there is no footpath all over the city for padestrians.Encroachments are seen everywhere & there is no sign of fear on the face of law violating persons. Willpower of Political leaders & officials of law enforcing agencies have been completely washed out.Every street of Bhopal city is full of so many problems. Deep pits & uncontrolled traffic on the road speaks the bad governance in Bhopal
