Slovenian (central Europe) artist Franc Grom, 72, turns everyday eggshells that would normally be thrown out with the rubbish into beautiful pieces of art. Let us learn about its making.
1 - It can take Grom months to complete just one egg with an average of 3,000 tiny holes. He picked this art after retirement, and has been creating it for 18 years.
2.Before making a start Grom always checks the egg under a strong light in advance. If he finds a micro-crack in the shell, he doesn't carve.
3 -Franc first pokes holes in the top and bottom of the shell to blow out all the liquid. Then starts working with an empty, washed, and dried eggshell
4. He uses a tiny electric drill to poke thousands of tiny holes into the fragile shell to create designs and images on the egg.
5.A typical Franc Grom egg will contain 2,000 to 3,000 holes. Though the artist recalls working on an egg for nearly three months in 2010, it
had approximately 24,000 holes
