I wish a sense of independence for all women, not in an obvious ways and not just to score points...When I say independence I wish women would have the freedom of thought and opinion. I also want women to be strong without competing with men.We should be allowed to be proud of who and what we are, with all out strengths and vulnerabilities. In brief ,we should be allowed to be the real perfect imperfect women.
Chitrangda Singh, ActorThe world is incomplete without women. One can’t deny the fact-that how they have climbed the ladder of success be it any career science, technology, medical science. Amid all this, they are best homemakers as well thus, they have amazing talent of striking a good balance.
Neil Nitin Mukesh, ActorWhether we like it or not we live in a male-dominated society. This is specially true of rural and semi-rural India. Ironically in a country where a woman Mrs Sonia Gandhi occupies one of the most powerful positions we also have a shocking gangrape incident right under her nose. There is a clear dichotomy here. Female infanticide and cases of female subjugation are rampant.Sad but true! I only wish women would be given the fundamental right to have respect and security.Anyone who abuses these rights must be punished quickly and severely.
Shilpa Shetty Kundra, ActorWomanhood is a gift. I’m proud to be a woman. As far as achievements in daily life are concerned, every woman has different way of leading life. The criterion to be successful is very subjective since it’s about priorities which differ from woman to woman. But I love the fact, they are independent and mostly importantly, awareness is being created to keep them safe.
Sonal Chauhan, ActorWe women need to reclaim ourselves, and end our dependence on men, be it emotional or financial.Only then would we be able to walk tall shoulder to shoulder with our male counterparts.
Pooja Bhatt, Actor& Film MakerI wish women would stand up for themselves in their own home space first! Equal status begins at home. Ironically the most difficult gender challenge faced by women is to get respected by her own people.Only then can we have feel confident enough to face the outside world. Older women need to treat their daughters-in-law well and on a par with their sons. Mothers should teach their sons to respect women. And younger women need to believe in themselves. That’s where it begins. We are first human beings ,then segregated by gender. Both men and women need to co-exist with dignity.
Gauri Shinde, DirectorI wish women would be given respect and equal opportunities in the work space where the criteria should be merit not gender.
Minissha Lamba, ActorWe women live in a country that is referred to as Bharat Mata But we constantly have to wage a war against discrimination and inequality. We’ve to repeatedly request for safety. Our mythology and history, the Mahabharat and the Ramayan are stories about wars that were started to salvage women’s pride and respect. Moving into the 21st Century we seem to be moving backwards. I’d wish our men would return to their roots to understand how women were treated as equals in the past.
Esha Gupta, ActorWomen are divine creatures. We need to be loved and nurtured. We want to be respected and above all,we want to feel safe in our own country. I have a million wishes for women everywhere.A complete role reversal would be really cool with women beating the hell out men!And I wish women had a tool to impregnate men. Happy Women’s Day.
Alisha Chinai, SingerI feel women are making their place in a male-dominated society. What a beautiful balance they achieve between work and family!. This Woman’s Day I’d want men to wish well for women and promise them safety and security.
Divya Dutta, ActorThere are many Indias within the one country that we live in. And today a woman’s treatment is determined by which India she is born into. The less privileged women are still subjected to child marriage, dowry harassment and sexual abuse apart from being the eternal housemaids.Privileged women are the equal bread earners and hence more assertive at home. But we still feel insecure while traveling by public transport or stepping out of our homes in the dark. Worst is the way successful women are looked on by some men as creatures who compromise on their morality. We need to escape these gender biases.
Amrita Rao, ActorWomen is the emblem of beauty, patience, love, passion ...every home, every heart, every feeling, every moment of happiness is incomplete without a women. Only a woman is capable of completing the world. Often we leave our appreciation unspoken... but today I say HAPPY WOMEN'S DAY.
Soumya Seth, Tv ActorI believe that India has a long way to go into respecting and giving women their due place in society. We were born equal and and should strive to keep it that way.We need to change the mindset and that can only happen with education.Women are no less powerful than their male counterparts. I wish gender inequality could be eradicated. If only it was that simple!
Amrita Puri, ActorEven though women today are more educated liberated and free we still have to bear with the dreaded demented mentality of some misguided selfappointed guardians of morality who have their own take on how we women should conduct themselves and what we should wear. Ironically we often have to rely for our safety on elements who have no respect for women.Despite the seeming liberalism we are victims of a gender bias and of our own inability to stand up against wrong. The first and most important thing I’d wish for women on Women’s Day is their right to a secure and violence-free environment.
Celina Jaitley, ActorI wish women could have the same freedom as men.Women should be able to get work as easily as men. They should have the freedom to wear what they want and speak their mind, and not get punished for it.They should have the freedom to be independent in thought , speech and movement.
Kalki Koechlin, ActorI truly believe that Women are the one who are emotionally stronger than anyone else. They have capacity to deal with the world and today women are the frontrunner. I feel proud for Women's of India.
Vishal Singh, Tv Actor’d like men to be man enough to respect a woman’s right to freedom, her speech, her will and dignity. She must be equal to men in every sense. Any sign of abuse of a woman’s fundamental rights must be dealt with severely irrespective of the strata of society she belongs to. Educate her partner, brother and son for a safer society.
Vaibhavi Merchant, ChoreographerEvery day is Women’s Day!Women hold up as much of the sky as men do.Women should celebrate love and respect themselves. Only then can we expect the same from men.
Aditi Rao Hydari, ActorI don’t believe in celebrating womanhood once a year.So I don’t believe in Women’s Day.I wish women would celebrate their womanhood every day, every moment...like I do.
Khushboo, Tamil Actress And ActivistAs such I don’t believe on this day. But for Women’s of India I salute them and feel proud. I love all the women who are in my life.
Raqesh Vashisht, Tv ActorI’ve never followed nor believed in setting aside one day in a year to women.I ask for emotional, sexual and financial equality for women and men every day.
Kalpana Lajmi, DirectorMy mother is my father and Mother both. When required she is lenient and strict also. Happy Women’s Day to my Mother.
Anchal Munjal, Tv ActorThis year I am going to be awarded as Young Women achiever by my own city on Women's Day. So I am excited for the day to come.
Sparsh Kanchandani, Tv ActorCurrently if you will see what is happening around the country, after that condition of women. How can we celebrate a day when rest of the day in a year you are torturing them.
Chandani Bhagwanani, Tv ActorI don’t believe in these days dedicating in a year like Mother's Day, Father's Day, Women's Day etc. Specially after the recent cases of Molestation happening in the country. It's very sad to hear that Females are not safe at her own place. The Only way to change this crime is to educate girls not only from School but also there has to be a change in Women's thinking. The system has to be very strong. If a woman will change herself then only she will be able to change the world.
